Hume Coal Project announce funding subsidy.

The Hume Coal Project has announced that it will assist students from the NSW Southern Highlands area for the 2016 program.  Students will be able to share in a grant of $2000 towards the program.


LAZSTA (Metropolitan South West Science Teachers Association) and iSTEM will again embark on an enrichment program that will see 45 teachers and students participate in Space Academy in Huntsville, Alabama in September 2017.

This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for teachers and students in years 9-12. During Space Camp 2017, participants will be provided with opportunities for science enrichment and leadership development which will be supported with visits to science centres, schools and universities.

During this weeklong program trainees are provided with hands-on training as well as learning about the mental, emotional and physical demands astronauts must face. Fields of study include Engineering, Space Technology and Aerospace Science.

The 2017 program will also include visits to attractions in New York, Washington, and Los Angeles.

Students wishing to attend this tour must be enrolled at a high school in either years 9, 10 , 11 or 12. 

Adults participating must be qualified teachers or involved with science education and have completed relevant child protection checks. thank you
